Sessional Tutors/Sessional Clinical Educators

The Division of Nursing and Midwifery, within the Faculty of Health Sciences at La Trobe University, is seeking interest from experienced Clinical Educators and Lecturers to assist in supporting the Division’s programs across all Victorian campuses.

Sessional Clinical Educators will be responsible for teaching, guiding, supporting and evaluating students undertaking clinical practicum subjects in the Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-Registration). As the clinical educator you will act as a professional role model for students and agency staff by demonstrating the appropriate manner, attitude, communication and practice standards.

Degree qualified with experience in teaching; including a minimum of 3 years full-time clinical experience and current Division 1 Registered with the Nurses Board Victoria are essential for this role.

Sessional Teaching Staff will act as support to the Subject Coordinator and have the ability to work collaboratively with the broader divisional team. In this role you will be responsible for undertaking a range of functions, the majority of which are connected with the subjects the academic teaches, these include assessing students, preparing and delivering lectures/tutorials, practical classes and clinical sessions.

To be successful in this role you must have completed or be near completion in a post graduate qualification, you must hold a current practising certificate with the Nurses Board of Victoria to practice as a Division 1 Registered nurse and have recent clinical experience. Previous experience teaching in a tertiary educational environment is desirable but not essential.
