This program provides carers with the knowledge and skills to support clients with their bowel elimination needs, and in particular, to administer suppositories or enemas to assist evacuation where necessary.

  • Strategies used to maintain regular bowel evacuation
  • Bowel training goals and process to establish a regular elimination pattern
  • Recognition of when a suppository or enema is needed to assist evacuation

Trainer/Assessors

PREMIUMHEALTH’strainers are registered nurses that have at least a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.

Assessment

Students’ performance is assessed.

Award

A Statement of Participation is issued upon completion of this course
