MANUAL HANDLING IN COMMUNITY CARE OR CHILD CARE

Description
This program is designed specifically for people working as office workers, home care workers, personal carers and similar occupations. The course develops the knowledge and skills required to recognise the manual handling tasks performed in the person’s/group’s workplace, the ways in which these may lead to injuries in workers and safe work practices required to minimise the risk of these injuries occurring.
Content Overview
- Identification of manual handling activities related to the required work tasks
- Recognition of the postures, movements and other factors associated with manual handling tasks which increase the possibility of injury.
- Identification of measures, including safe work practices, to be used in order to reduce the likelihood of injury

Trainer/Assessors
PREMIUMHEALTH provides trainers who are registered nurses or ambulance officers that have at least Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
Assessment
Students’ performance is assessed.
Award
A Statement of Participation is issued on completion of this course
