PEG FEEDING MANAGEMENT

Description
This program is designed specifically for carers supporting clients who have a PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) tube and require feeding via the tube. The course develops the knowledge and skills required to appreciate the significance and support the person experiencing such a change and to understand the different types of PEG tubes and feeding regimes and the management of both.

- Types of nourishment tubes
- Different feeding regimes
- Management of the tube and gastrostomy site
- Administration of nutrients, fluids and medications
- Identification and management of common problems

Trainer/Assessors
PREMIUMHEALTH’strainers are registered nurses that have at least Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
Assessment
Students’ performance is assessed.
