This unit of competency offers the skills and knowledge required to provide a basic first aid response, emergency life support and management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders unitl the arrival of medical or other assistance.  The competencies are recognised as a benchmark standard satisfying training requirements across many occupational qualifications and industries. IMMUNISATION EMERGENCIES: MANAGEMENT & RESUSCITATION (IEMR)

3 courses are provided for nurses seeking to become accredited nurse immunisers or wishing to undertake the mandatory 3 yearly re-accreditation or desiring to ensure annually their current competency in critical CPR and anaphylaxis first aid skills.

IEMR Accreditation
This program is offered to nurses seeking accreditation as nurse immunisers.  The course assesses current CPR competencies within the context of an immunisation adverse event. It provides knowledge and skills about adverse events requiring an emergency response, outlines the management of these adverse events, teaches emergency procedural planning and demonstrates the use of appropriate resuscitation equipment. (Read more)

IEMR Re-Accreditation

SPECIALISED PERSONAL CARE TRAINING

Premium Health's Nurse Educators deliver a range of training courses to cater for clients with special needs.

PEG FEEDING MANAGEMENT
This program is designed specifically for carers supporting clients who have a PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) tube and require feeding via the tube. The course develops the knowledge and skills required to appreciate the significance and support the person experiencing such a change and to understand the different types of PEG tubes and feeding regimes and the management of both.  (Read more)

CARING FOR CLIENTS WITH EPILEPSY
This program is designed for carers working with clients who have epilepsy.  The course develops the knowledge to understand and recognise epilepsy and the different types of seizures, and the knowledge and skills to manage seizures.  Common medications used to treat epilepsy are discussed. There is an optional course component for those carers endorsed to administer buccal midazolam and rectal valium. (Read more)
