HLTCPR201A PERFORM CPR

This unit of competency offers fundamental life support – the knowledge and skills required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Guidelines and is suited particularly to those required to ensure their CPR skills are current at the end of every 12 months. This unit of competency offers the skills and knowledge required to provide a basic first aid response, emergency life support and management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical or other assistance. TUBE FEEDING MANAGEMENT
This program is designed specifically for carers supporting clients who have a PEG Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) tube or PEJ (Percutaneous Endoscopic Jejunostomy) tube and require feeding via the tube. CARING FOR CLIENTS WITH EPILEPSY
This program is designed for carers working with clients who have epilepsy. The course develops the knowledge to understand and recognise epilepsy and the different types of seizures, and the knowledge and skills to manage seizures. CARING FOR CLIENTS WITH DIABETES
This program is designed for carers working with clients who have diabetes. The course develops the knowledge to understand Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and provides the knowledge and skills to manage hypoglycaemia. Common medications used to treat diabetes are discussed.

ASSISTING CLIENTS WITH ORAL HEALTH CARE
This program is designed for carers working with clients who need assistance with oral health care. The course develops the knowledge to understand and recognise the factors that affect oral health, discusses strategies to maintain oral health and gives the carer a good understanding of basic oral hygiene practices.
