EMERGENCY ASTHMA MANAGEMENT

Description
This course provides the knowledge and skills to enable people to identify asthma signs and symptoms and provide the emergency management for a person suffering from an asthma attack. Possession of a Statement of Attainment permits the holder to apply for a Bronchodilator Accreditation Number (BAN) to keep asthma medication in a first aid kit and administer the medication.

Trainer/Assessors
PREMIUMHEALTH provides trainers who are registered nurses or ambulance officers, have at least Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and licensed by Asthma Victoria to conduct this course.
Assessment
Students’ performance in relation to the course’s competency elements is assessed.
Award
A Statement of Attainment is issued on successful completion of this course and is current for three years.
