INTRODUCTION TO BABYSITTING AND ESSENTIAL FIRST AID

This course is a must for anyone wishing to become a babysitter or child minder.  Learn about basic baby and child development, caring for babies and young children, essential first aid and managing a life threatening emergency.

  • Soft tissue injuries and basic wound care
  • Life-threatening bleeding
  • Unconsciousness
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (variations for adults, children and infants)
• Calling emergency services

Course Duration

7 hours

PREMIUMHEALTH provides trainers who are registered nurses or ambulance officers that have at least Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.

Assessment

Students’ performance in relation to the unit’s competency elements is assessed.

Award

A Statement of Participation is issued to participants.
