This course is a must for anyone wishing to become a babysitter or child minder.  Learn about basic baby and child development, caring for babies and young children, essential first aid for children and managing a life threatening emergency situation.

  • Soft tissue injuries and basic wound care
  • Life-threatening bleeding
  • Unconsciousness
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (variations for adults, children and infants)
• Calling emergency services

PREMIUMHEALTH provides trainers who hold a Certificate IV in Assessment and Training and experience as highly skilled nurses and paramedics.

Assessment

Students’ performance in relation to the unit’s competency elements is assessed.

Award

A Statement of Participation is issued to participants.
